The taxon was validly published as P. phoenicea, see https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:675336-1 (Wrong spelling here: e instead of i) I was in contact with Rafael Govaerts, this taxon is in fact an accepted species and not a synonym of P. alata. POWO will update in the near future.
