Diagnostic Description

Specimens of this species with distinctly lobed leaves were described as S. delagoeensis by Thellung (the leaf lobes being strap-shaped, spreading and apically obtuse). Intermediate leaf forms occur and Thellung's plant cannot be maintained as a separate species. However, the specimens with lobed leaves appear to be recorded only from coastal localities and may therefore represent an infra-specific taxon.
