Morphology

Annual herb, 20-300 mm tall, glabrous or obscurely pubescent or scabridulous. Flowers pedicellate, typically solitary at nodes, but sometimes 2- or 3-flowered cymes on reduced leafless branches. Calyx lobes 4. Corolla tube 0.6-1.0 mm long. Capsule ovoid, obscurely beaked. Flowers white, tinged blue, pink or purple.

    Habitat

    Damp, sandy places; forest edges, woodland; grassland; disturbed places.
