30–60(–100) cm hoch. Stängel 3kantig, sehr dünn, schlaff. Blätter 2–3 mm breit, schlaff, viel länger als der Stängel. Blütenstand endständig, 2–3 cm lang, mit 5–8 Ährchen, alle unten männlich, oben weiblich. Narben 2. Deckspelzen weiss oder gelb
