Arbuscula vel arbores usque ad 5 m. Folia lanceolata vel ovato-lanceolata, acuminata, coriacea, basi rotundata, obscure 3-5 nervia; petioli breves, carnosi; inflorescentia axillaris, racemosa, 5-10-flora; lobi calycis lanceolato-triangulares, acuminati; corolla brevis, ca 7 mm longa, 5-lobata, lobi triangulares, intus floccosa; stamina 10; fructus ignotus.
Shrubs or trees to 5 m. Branchlets slender, grayish, the epidermis shredding and sometimes reticulate on older branches; leaves lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, coriaceous, 5-10 cm long and 2-6 cm broad, the base rounded, obscurely 3-5-plinerved; petioles short, fleshy and tumid, 2-3 mm long, the leaf obscurely decurrent onto the petiole; inflorescence axillary near the ends of branches, racemose, 5-12-flowered, the peduncle 1-3 cm long; the pedicels slender, bibracteate below the middle, mostly 1.5-3 cm long; calyx articulated to the pedicel, the hypanthium 3.5-4 mm long, the tube and lobes 4-5 mm long, the lobes lanceolate-triangular, acuminate, about 4 mm long and 3 mm broad at the base; corolla about 7 mm long and in diameter, the lobes 5, about 2 mm long, triangular, glabrous outside but densely floccose inside on the lobes and on the throat; stamens 10, about 5 mm long, attached at base of corolla, the anther about 2.5 mm long, the sacs obscurely grandular, the lobes broad, shorter than the sacs, about 0.7 mm long, dehising by a terminal pore, the filaments attached well above the middle of the anther, sparsely pilose; fruit unknown.
