    Leaves of mature trees oblong-lanceolate, elliptic, to elliptic-obovate, acute and shortly and very acutely mucronate, 7.9–9.5 cm. long, 3–3.8 cm. broad, subcoriaceous, greyish or olivaceous and shining on the upper surface, fulvous and dull on the lower, scaly on both surfaces and especially on the lower, otherwise glabrous.

    Tree, 15–20 m. tall, the final branches terete, grey, with numerous projecting lenticels.
