    Spikelets elliptic, 2.5–3.8 mm. long, pubescent, subacute; lower glume 2/3–3/4 as long as the spikelet, 7–11-nerved, obtuse; upper glume 5–7-nerved, with a few cross-veins; lower lemma 5-nerved, the laterals near the margin, with a few cross-veins; upper lemma finely striate, shiny, subacute.
