    Petioles (1.5–)3–7 cm. long, sparingly stellate-pubescent; leaf-blade broadly triangular-ovate, 5–15 cm. long, 3.5–12 cm. wide, acutely caudate-acuminate, cuneate-subtruncate to shallowly cordate, with 2 small subsessile discoid basal glands not visible from above, usually coarsely dentate to sub-5-lobed, more rarely shallowly toothed to sub-entire, chartaceous, 5–7-nerved from the base, remaining lateral nerves 4–6 pairs, prominent beneath, densely fulvous (above) and greyish (beneath) stellate-pubescent at first, later becoming almost glabrous and dull green, drying blackish, above, but with the surface rough owing to the persistent hair-bases, and evenly greyish pubescent beneath.
