Fig. 109 C, D.Epífitas, ocasionalmente rupícolas; rizoma con escamas clatradas y margen blan­quecino, denti­culado a fimbriado, raramente como­sas; hojas monomorfas o dimorfas, distantes entre sí, 6–20 cm de largo; pecíolo café, terete y angosta­mente marginado, con escamas dis­per­sas sobre toda la superficie; lámina simple, lanceolada a angosta­mente elíptica, ca (1.5–) 2–4 cm de ancho, base cu­nea­da, ápice agudo a acuminado, con escamas ovadas a circulares dispersas sobre ambas superficies, entre­mezcladas con otras escamas lanceo­ladas (mayor­mente cerca de la costa), ambas cafés en el centro y con mar­gen café pálido y denticulado-fimbriado, las escamas menos abundantes sobre el lado adaxial; soros circulares a elípticos, con escamas ovado-lanceoladas oscuras en el centro y con margen pálido y fimbriado.Nebliselvas, bosques enanos, bosques húmedos y bosques de pinos; Neill 2187-a, Rueda 11176; (600–) 900–1800 m; Honduras a Argentina y Brasil, India, Sri Lanka y sur de África.     Morphology

    Stem: type trailling long; indumentum scale type clathrate; indumentum scale colour bicolor; indumentum scale form lanceolate; indumentum scale apex acuminate; indumentum scale margin entire. Leaf: division simple; petiolate petiole long; form blade elliptic/lanceolate; apex blade acuminate; venation areolate. Type of sporangium: sori position median; sori form rounded.

    Rhizome widely creeping, ± 2 mm in diameter, set with lanceolate-acuminate rhizome scales. Fronds simple. Soral paraphyses peltate, conspicuous in young sori. Undersurface of frond with numerous lacerate, peltate scales. Lamina narrowly elliptic, up to 200 x 17 mm. Sori oval, in upper half of lamina.

    Perennial with widely spreading rhizome. Fronds spaced, firmly herbaceous to coriaceous, stipe sparsely scaled, lamina simple, entire, narrowly elliptic, to 20 cm long, minutely lacerate-scaled beneath. Null Sori oval, to 4 mm diam.
