Epífitas o hemiepífitas; rizoma 1-3(-4) mm de diámetro, no pruinoso, las escamas lanceoladas, clatradas, discoloras, castaño claro o castaño, los márgenes diferenciados, las células 2 veces más largas que anchas, la base auriculada o entera; hojas 20-60 cm, remotas; pecíolo 0.5-3(-5) cm, articulado, pajizo o castaño; lámina 2.5-6(-8) cm de ancho, 9-20 veces más larga que el pecíolo, lanceolado-oblonga o lanceolado-obovada, algunas veces linear-lanceolada, herbáceo-cartácea, brillante sólo en el envés, glabra, entera, la base generalmente atenuada, el ápice caudado o acuminado; costa prominente; nervaduras primarias prominulosas o prominentes en ambas superficies, levemente flexuosas o rectas; aréolas (4-)6-12 entre la costa y el margen; soros medios o subterminales. Selvas altas perennifolias de áreas bajas y premontanas.     Epífitas; rizoma corta a largamente rastrero, con escamas ovado-lanceoladas, 1–4 mm de largo, opa­cas; hojas distantes entre sí; pecíolo ca 1/10 de la longitud de la hoja, el tejido laminar estrechamente decurrente casi hasta la base, articulado, pajizo a café claro; lámina angos­tamente elíptica u oblanceolada, 20–40 cm de largo y 2–8 cm de ancho, costa visible sobre ambas super­ficies, base atenuada, ápice acuminado, glabra; ner­vios visibles en ambas superficies, forman­do (5) 6–10 hileras de aréolas entre la costa y el margen.

    Rhizome slender, creeping, mostly 2-3 mm diam., green, nearly naked at maturity; rhizome scales 2-3 mm long, 0.3-0.5 mm wide, clathrate, narrowly lanceolate-deltate with long-attenuate tip; fronds 20-40 cm long, 3.5-5.5 cm broad, distant; stipe lacking or extremely short; blade narrowly decurrent to base, narrowly elliptic to narrowly oblanceolate, margin with rare, shallow teeth, apex acute to long-acuminate or caudate; main lateral veins prominent and larger than cross-veins, fertile veinlets very short with the sori nearly resting on the cross veins (secondary veins) and no partitioning veinlet; sori 6-8-se-riate between midvein and margin, in two distinct rows between primary veins, two per areole; conspicuous nectaries in acroscopic axils of lateral veins.

    Rhizomes slender, creeping, mostly 2–3 mm diam., green, nearly naked at maturity; rhizome scales sparse, narrowly lanceolate-deltate with long-attenuate tips, 2–4 x 0.5–1 mm, weakly clathrate, the cells elongate, at least twice as long as wide, margins lighter colored; fronds 20–50 cm long, distant (7–15 mm apart); stipes absent or very short, 1–10 cm long, 1/20–1/5 the length of the blades; blades chartaceous, narrowly elliptic to narrowly oblanceolate, 4–6(–8) cm wide, narrowly cuneate and decurrent at bases, apices acute to long-acuminate; lime dots absent adaxially; areoles (4–)6–12 rows between midribs and margins, 1.5–3 times broader than long, excurrent veinlets usually 2 per primary areole, free, not partitioning the areoles; main lateral veins prominent, secondary veins regularly anastomosing; sori 6– 12-seriate between midribs and blade margins, in two regular rows between main lateral veins, two per primary areole.

    Rhizomes long-creeping or pendent, green to blackish, covered by acuminate, brown, pale-margined, appressed scales 2-3.5 mm long. Fronds separate, glabrous, 20-75 cm long; petiole 3-15 cm long, covered by caducous scales; blade linear to lanceolate, 15-60 X 3-9 cm, decurrent at base, acuminate at apex, the margins entire or sinuate; secondary veins oblique, parallel, joined by arched veinlets, with 2 free veinlets. Sori small, in 2 series between secondary veins.
