General Information

A perennial rhizomatous herb emitting suberect weak, shoots up to 25 cm long, densely hairy with suberect weak-hairs. Basal leaves, including petiole, 35-150 x 8-17, elliptic-lanceolate to lanceolate, covered on both surfaces with subappressed thin hairs arising from a tuberculate base. Cauline leaves similar but smaller. Fruiting inflorescence up to 15 cm long. Pedicels in fruit, 3-4 mm long. Calyx 3-4 mm long, linear-obtuse. Corolla tube 4.5- 5 mm long; lobes oblong, 3.5-4 mm long, narrow oblong; sometimes acutish. Throat scales 0. Anthers ± included or slightly exserted from throat, 2.5-3 mm long, apiculate. Filaments 0.5 mm long, broad. Style slender, 10-13 mm long. Nutlets ovoid, ± angled, c. 2 mm long, minutely pubescent on the edges.
